“A Cultural Function in Your School”
Every year, our school organizes a grand cultural function to celebrate its Foundation Day, which falls on the 15th of August. This year, the event was held in the school auditorium, beautifully decorated with colorful lights and flowers. The program began at 10 a.m. with the lighting of the lamp by our principal, followed by a short welcome speech. The students presented a variety of cultural performances including songs, dances, recitations, and short plays. The main attraction was a drama based on India’s freedom struggle, which filled everyone with a patriotic spirit. I participated in a group dance representing different states of India. I practiced for two weeks with my friends, and though I was nervous at first, the loud applause from the audience made me very happy and proud. The teachers and parents appreciated our performances, and the principal congratulated all participants. The function ended with the National Anthem and distribution of sweets. It was truly a memorable and joyful experience that brought unity, enthusiasm, and happiness among all of us.

প্রতি বছর আমাদের বিদ্যালয়ে প্রতিষ্ঠা দিবস উপলক্ষে একটি বর্ণাঢ্য সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজন করা হয়। আমাদের বিদ্যালয়ের প্রতিষ্ঠা দিবস ১৫ই আগস্ট, যা একই সঙ্গে ভারতের স্বাধীনতা দিবসও। এ বছর অনুষ্ঠানটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয় বিদ্যালয়ের অডিটোরিয়ামে, যা রঙিন আলো ও ফুল দিয়ে অত্যন্ত সুন্দরভাবে সাজানো হয়েছিল। সকাল দশটায় আমাদের প্রিয় প্রধান শিক্ষক মশাই প্রদীপ প্রজ্বলনের মাধ্যমে অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনা করেন। এরপর তিনি একটি সংক্ষিপ্ত কিন্তু অনুপ্রেরণামূলক বক্তব্য রাখেন।
অনুষ্ঠানে একে একে ছাত্রছাত্রীরা নাচ, গান, কবিতা আবৃত্তি এবং নাটক পরিবেশন করে। বিভিন্ন শ্রেণির ছাত্রছাত্রীরা নিজেদের প্রতিভা তুলে ধরে, যা সকল দর্শককে মুগ্ধ করে। অনুষ্ঠানের প্রধান আকর্ষণ ছিল স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রাম ভিত্তিক একটি নাটক, যা সকলের মনে দেশপ্রেমের সঞ্চার ঘটায়। আমি নিজেও অনুষ্ঠানে অংশগ্রহণ করেছিলাম। আমি আমাদের বিদ্যালয়ের দলীয় নৃত্যে অংশ নিই, যেখানে ভারতের বিভিন্ন রাজ্যের নৃত্যরীতির সংমিশ্রণ তুলে ধরা হয়।
অনুষ্ঠানের আগে আমরা দুই সপ্তাহ ধরে প্রতিদিন বিদ্যালয়ের পরে প্র্যাকটিস করেছি। শুরুতে আমি কিছুটা নার্ভাস ছিলাম, কিন্তু মঞ্চে উঠে যখন দর্শকরা করতালি দিতে শুরু করলেন, তখন আমার সব ভয় কেটে যায়। সেই মুহূর্তে আমি অপরিসীম আনন্দ ও গর্ব অনুভব করেছিলাম। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকা, অভিভাবক ও অতিথিরা আমাদের পারফর্মেন্সের প্রশংসা করেন।
শেষে প্রধান শিক্ষক মশাই সকল অংশগ্রহণকারীদের ধন্যবাদ জানিয়ে পুরস্কার বিতরণ করেন। আমরা সবাই মিলে জাতীয় সঙ্গীত গেয়ে অনুষ্ঠানের সমাপ্তি করি। এরপর সবার মধ্যে মিষ্টি বিতরণ করা হয়। দিনটি আমাদের জীবনের এক অবিস্মরণীয় দিন হয়ে থাকবে।
এই সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান আমাদের মধ্যে ঐক্য, শৃঙ্খলা ও পারস্পরিক সহযোগিতার মনোভাব গড়ে তোলে। এমন অনুষ্ঠান শুধু বিনোদনের নয়, এটি ছাত্রজীবনের এক মূল্যবান অভিজ্ঞতা, যা আমাদের হৃদয়ে আজীবন রয়ে যাবে।
