Kolkata is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in India. It is the capital of West Bengal and is located on the eastern bank of the river Hooghly. The city is full of life, culture, and history. Every street here tells a story — of art, literature, and freedom. It is a perfect blend of tradition and modernity.

The people of Kolkata are warm, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere here is always energetic. The city never sleeps — buses, trams, and metro trains run from morning till night. One can see people of different backgrounds living together peacefully. Festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm, especially Durga Puja, which transforms the whole city into a colorful paradise.

Kolkata is also famous for its educational institutions, libraries, and museums. I live near Park Street, which is one of the busiest and most charming areas of the city. There are many shops, restaurants, and cafes where people come to spend time. I often visit the Indian Museum, the Victoria Memorial, and the Science City, which are great places to learn and relax.

The food in Kolkata is absolutely delicious. From spicy street foods like phuchka, kathi roll, and chowmein to sweet dishes like rosogolla and sandesh, everything is mouth-watering. People here love to eat and share food. You would definitely enjoy the flavors if you ever come here.

The trams, hand-pulled rickshaws, and the old colonial buildings make the city unique. Kolkata is not just a place — it’s a feeling that touches every heart.
