A Devastating Flood in Midnapore

Midnapore, December 16, 2024 : —– A devastating flood took place at Midnapore. Incessant rainfall for the past few days flooded a large portion of Midnapore in the month of July. The rivers swelled up and water gushed into villages. Trees have been uprooted. Many villages have been flooded. [Trees were uprooted. Many villages are flooded] Mud houses in the affected areas have been destroyed totally and plenty of cattles washed away. The residents of pucca houses had lost all their belongings. Thousands of people rendered homeless. Flood affected people were taken to a safe place. The government took various steps of relief work. NDRE, ARMY and other NGOS started a rescue operation. Food, medicine , clothing etc. were distributed among the flood affected people. The chief minister has made an aerial survey of the flood affected areas and assured all sorts of help. The state government released a fund of Rs. 10 crore for giving relief to the flood affected people.
