Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to raise concern about the extremely unhygienic condition of our locality – Garia Station Road, Kolkata. The situation is worsening day by day and poses a serious health threat to the residents.

Problems in Our Area :
- Overflowing Garbage and Clogged Drains
The garbage bins are not emptied regularly, leading to piles of waste on the roads. Moreover, the drains are blocked and overflow, especially during rainfall. - Breeding Ground for Diseases
The stagnant water and waste have become breeding grounds for mosquitoes, flies, and rodents. This has caused a rise in dengue, malaria, and other infections. - Irregular Municipal Services
Despite repeated complaints, no concrete steps have been taken. Municipal workers are irregular and the cleanliness is neglected.

Request to the Authorities :
We request the concerned civic body to :
- Appoint regular cleaning staff
- Install more dustbins
- Ensure timely garbage collection
- Cover open drains
- Launch public cleanliness campaigns
