I hope you are in the best of health and spirits. It’s been quite a while since I last wrote to you. I am writing this letter to share my wonderful experience of a recent visit to a place of great historical interest — the Victoria Memorial in Kolkata.

Last Sunday, my parents decided to take me to the Victoria Memorial as part of a short family trip. The day was bright and pleasant, perfect for an outing. As soon as we reached the grand marble monument, I was completely mesmerized by its beauty and magnificence. The huge dome, wide gardens, and shining white marble walls made it look like a palace from a fairy tale.

We entered the museum inside the building, where I saw many rare paintings, sculptures, old maps, and antique items from the British era. Each gallery told a different story about India’s rich cultural and political past. I learned about the reign of Queen Victoria and the events that shaped colonial India. The atmosphere was calm and full of knowledge — I could almost feel the history breathing around me.

Outside, the garden was filled with colorful flowers and well-trimmed lawns. People were taking photographs, children were playing, and tourists were enjoying horse rides. We also took several pictures together and had ice cream near the pond. The reflection of the monument on the water looked so enchanting that I stood there for a long time just admiring the view.

Later, we visited St. Paul’s Cathedral, which is located nearby. Its tall spires and Gothic architecture added even more beauty to the area. The whole experience was not just fun but also educational. I realized how important it is to preserve our monuments — they remind us of our glorious history and inspire pride in our culture.

By evening, we sat on the lawns to watch the light-and-sound show. The illumination of the Victoria Memorial under the night sky looked breathtaking. The narration of historical events with music and visuals was truly unforgettable. It was a perfect end to a perfect day.
