Story Writing (A Shepherd Boy)
There was a young boy a Shepherd who found his job of tending sheep quite boring. The beauty of the foothills of the mountain was something he had got used to. The fact that there was a dense forest close by didn’t help his cause either.
To add some spice and adventure to his monotonous existence he worked out a plan. He rushed down heading towards the village where he lived and called out in mock horror ‘wolf’! ‘wolf’ !. The villagers rushed to his help and waited for a long time to ensure the little boy’s safety.
Pleased with the attention and company he received he repeated some tricks again and again. The naive villagers stood guard each time.
But Alas! There came a time when actually a wolf appeared and the boy gave out the loudest cry. The villagers thought he was talking to them for a ride again and didn’t pay any heed.
As they slept in the confines of their home far away the wolf made a good meal of the flock of sheep.
The boy realised his mistake and promised never to lie again. If you lie you won’t be believed even if you are speaking the truth – beware.
Moral —– No one believes liars even when they are telling the truth.
